Moab Business Resource Center
Update
The Moab Business Resource Center (Moab BRC) serves local businesses of Moab so they can ultimately succeed and grow. As the Director of the Moab MBRC, my interest is in removing barriers to economic development for businesses in the Moab Area. To date, I have met, individually, with 83 business owners or managers here in Moab and have discussed many aspects of their business operations. Many trends have begun to emerge through these meetings. For example, internet technology continues to respond to the changing demands of individuals around the world using online resources in their daily activities. More and more, we - as individuals - reach for our smart phones and laptop computers to interface with the world around us. Businesses in Moab need to embrace these social changes in order to better meet their customer needs, and to grow their customer base.
To respond to this, the Moab MBRC is currently working on organizing a training (or series of shorter trainings) to be held here in Moab that will focus on better understanding and using internet technologies to grow your business. We will have local small business owners sharing their own experiences.
Current topics being planned include:
- website planning, design, maintenance and time management
- search engine optimization
- growing your customer base through social media networking
- setting up Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn for your business
- growing your customer base using online reservations and online sales
- techniques for avoiding fraud
- using smart-phones and what this technology means for your business
- changing online technologies and how ALL of the above are now interfaced
- how these tools work together for (or against) your business
