Why Take Concurrent Enrollment?
Every student must take general education classes to earn their college degree. These are the same courses that are offered to high school students through concurrent enrollment classes.
The majority of careers requires a person to be able to read, write, understand how to think and organize, use the computer, have knowledge of mathematics, and communicate with other people. On average people with college degrees earn more money. Many employers look for someone with college credits when screening applicants.
All schools require a student to take a certain number of general education classes such as computers, English, history, science, and math. The general education classes from a school like USU should meet the requirement from other schools and can be transferred. Moreover, if you are going to school out-of-state, you will be paying around three times as much in tuition as a state school.
You are not limited to taking classes at the high school for college credit just during the day. You can begin taking college class the summer that you start your junior year.
Vocational schools require the same math, English, communication, and computers skills that a college Bachelor's degree would require.
